The Old School House bed and breakfast of Alton, Staffordshire, is a Grade II listed National School built in 1845. It is situated within one mile of Alton Towers in the Conservation part of the village near a castle and two churches.

The Old School House was originally built in 1845 as the National School for the poor children of Alton. This event is commemorated by a stone crest with building date which can be seen from the front of the house. The house has been tastefully restored, retaining many original features such as the large stone mullion windows in the dining room, church room, and Hurstons room

Alton is an attractive village located in the beautiful Churnet Valley, with many signed walks through the superb countryside of the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Peak District National Park is near by and it is also convenient for visits to the Derbyshire Dales, the potteries, stately homes, gardens and other attractions.

We have three double en-suite rooms:

Church room, Cottage room and Hurstons room each with a colour, remote controlled television, and tea and coffee making facilities.

There is also a luxurious dining room.

Full English breakfast is served between 0830 and 0900 (or by arrangement).

Special diets can be catered for on request.

The Old School House is a non-smoking building and does not allow pets.
Pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

- Leave at junction 23A and follow signs for Derby and then Uttoxeter

M40:
- Join M42 then leave M42 junction 9 and follow the signs for Lichfield, then Ashbourne A515 until A50 junction to Uttoxeter

M5:
- Join M6 then leave M6 function 14 Stafford North and follow signs to Uttoxeter

North from M6:
- leave at junction 16 or 15 and follow A500 then A50 Uttoxeter

M1:
- leave at junction 28 and follow A38 then A50 Uttoxeter

Leave the B5032 on the corner with the Blacksmith Arms Pub and turn onto Uttoxeter road. The Old School House is located on High Street near to the White Hart Pub in the village of Alton.
